Staying hydrated

Even mild dehydration can leave you tired, foggy or headachy, and thirst is sometimes mistaken for hunger. Drinking enough water is a small habit with an outsized payoff.
A common guide is to sip water through the day and drink a little more when it is hot or you are active. Your urine being pale is a simple sign you are on track. Most drinks and water-rich foods count too.
If you tend to snack out of boredom, a glass of water first is a gentle way to check whether you are actually hungry. Swapping some sugary drinks for water or sparkling water is one of the easiest wins for both energy and weight.
Needs vary with body size, climate and health conditions; this is general information, not a medical target.
