Men's mental health: it's OK to talk
3 min read
Men can find it harder to talk about how they feel, and low mood, stress or anxiety are sometimes hidden behind irritability, throwing yourself into work, drinking more, or pulling away from people. Noticing these signs in yourself is an important first step.
Talking to someone you trust — a friend, a partner, or your doctor — genuinely helps, and asking for support is a sign of strength, not weakness. Regular movement, decent sleep, staying connected, and easing off alcohol all support your mental health too.
If you ever feel unable to cope, or have thoughts of harming yourself, please reach out right away — contact your doctor or your local emergency or crisis support service. You do not have to face it alone.
This is general wellbeing information, not medical advice. A doctor or mental health professional can offer support tailored to you.
